CoppermineSC Reloaded is a WordPress plug-in that allows you to embed images from your Coppermine Photo Gallery into your WordPress posts and files. It is based on original script by Lennart Groetzbach that was enhanced and adapted as a plugin by Matthias Jell. Before then being further enhanced with additional features and updated for PHP 8 by Deanna @ Feelin Alive Designs.
This reloaded version of CoppermineSC is created with fansites in mind and has the following functions that fansite creators may find the most useful including:
– displays latest albums added to the entire gallery
– displays latest albums added to a specific category (includes subcategories)
– displays the latest images added to the entire gallery
– displays thumbnails from specific albums and optional album title
– displays gallery statistic information in two formats (list & sentence)
– displays the latest albums in the entire gallery as text
– displays the latest albums in a specific category as text (includes subcategories)
– displays the category breadcrumb and album link for easy gallery links
The plug-in features a settings page to add your database and gallery info for easy installation and contains a few settings and a shortcode/php code guide for easy reference and usage. It uses the old colon based shortcodes featured in the original CPSC plug-in to ensure that any currently pasted shortcodes will convert if the feature is present in the CPGSC Reloaded plug-in.
Function Breakdown
Latest Albums
This will display the number of albums input into the shortcode or php code, from either the entire gallery or a specific category when using their respective codes. The specific category code will pull from the category input in the code and also any subcategories it may contain. For example, if the category selected is “Public Appearances” (is empty) and it has subcategories: “2024” & “2025”, it will pull from the subcategories and bypass the empty parent category.
Latest Images
This will display the latest images added to the entire gallery, eliminating the need for a separate script installed to do so. PHP Code is provided for easy header and sidebar display. Tooltip (if included in theme) display settings are in the admin settings to select whether to display the album title or the image views.
Album Thumbnail Display
This will display the code specified number of images from the code specified album, using the Album ID (ie https://sofia-carson.org/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=399) along with the album’s title above it. Option to turn off album titles before these is in the admin settings.
Gallery Statistics
This will display the statistics from your gallery including the number of albums, categories, images, image views and the date the last photo was uploaded. It has separate shortcodes to display this information in list and sentence format.
Latest Albums as Text
This will display the number of albums input into the shortcode or php code, from either the entire gallery or a specific category when using their respective codes but as text with no images. The specific category code will pull from the category input in the code and also any subcategories it may contain. For example, if the category selected is “Public Appearances” (is empty) and it has subcategories: “2024” & “2025”, it will pull from the subcategories and bypass the empty parent category. The subcategory that the album is in will be displayed before the album link, followed by the date the last image in that album was uploaded. For the list from the entire gallery, it will display the upload date, followed by the album title linked.
Album Links
This will display the classic fansite owner favourite link format of “Home > Category > Category > Category > Album Link” that’s used for gallery links without having to input anything but the Album ID in the shortcode. It will generate the album link as well as the category breadcrumb to the gallery home.
