Light Beam Effect

1. Open up a photo in photoshop. I’m going to be using this one.

2. Create a new layer and select the pen tool () and make sure the setting are like this

.

3. Start drawing back and forth lines over the person or object like this

4. Now select your brush tool, make sure the colour is on white. Select a round brush I out mine on 10px at 50% hardness.

5. Go back to the pen too and right click and click “Stroke path”

make sure “simulate pressure” is checked.

6. Right click on it and click “delete path”.

7. Use the eraser tool to erase every other line like this

8. Open up the layer settings. Put an Outer Glow on a colour of your choice. Leave it on screen and set it at 13px. Now add an inner glow on another colour and set it to normal, size – 2px. Add a drop shadow, change the colour to white and leave the other settings.

9. And now you’re done!

Here’s my finished result.
